Generation Z getting with nature; Lifestyle family shoot

Lifestyle shoots entail either shooting in the comfort of your own home, or outside on location, so this means that the kids get to play properly!

'Properly' meaning imaginative play, outdoor play, exploring, running, finding things etc, which is what all of us millennials remember our childhoods like. Although I know that kids of generation Z do still play outside, but shockingly not as many children prefer to play outside than being inside on a console or tablet all day.

Sumaiyah and her little family decided that they wanted an outside lifestyle session; in this case it was in Oakwell Hall/ Birstall. It was a brilliant day for it, dry, slightly sunny, and alas no rain!

The girls were very excited to be having their photo taken on the day, so photographing the family was pretty much a breeze.

I absolutely loved the lighting falling on the family, shining through the branches and leaves, creating interesting shadows and highlights.

We then have a small walk through oakwell hall, and had a conversation about how lovely the gardens are, and how relaxing it is to get outside and have a nature walk. We settled at a seated area with lots of trees for the tots to run around.

I asked the little ones to just play as normal, so they played beekaboo around the trees, and played tag a little. I managed to get some lovely candid and natural shots of kids being in their natural element.

We had a few family shots with mama looking stunning, and holding her babies close.

What I enjoyed the most was being able to capture the small moments where the little ones were enjoying exploring, and being relaxed with their surroundings.

The world looks a whole lot bigger, different, but beautiful in a child's eyes.
